The Oklahoma Community Theatre Association (OCTA) is proud to announce the
results from OCTAFEST 2006-2007, the 20th biannual statewide festival of
community theatre sponsored by OCTA, held July 6-9, 2006 on the campus of
the University of Oklahoma. Heller Theatre of Tulsa’s production of “The
Unexpected Man” by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton; and
Tulsa’s Theatre North’s production of “Who Will Sing for Lena”? by Janice
Liddell shared honors as Outstanding Productions, and will represent
Oklahoma at the American Association of Community Theatre’s Region VI
Festival to be held in Alexandria, LA, on April 12-14, 2007
“It’s a privilege for Oklahoma to send two production to AACT Regionals,
and it only happened because so many theatres from around the state made
the effort to bring a production to OCTAFest. I want to congratulate
EVERY entry. It takes great sacrifice of time and resources to
participate in OCTAFest, and the Board and Staff of OCTA recognize and
appreciate the efforts of the participating companies”, said Michael
Jones, Executive Director of OCTA.
Lawton Community Theatre’s production of “The Three Billy Goat’s Gruff”
was named the Production of Honor, and will be the alternate entry for the
AACT Region VI Festival, should one of the other companies be unable to
attend.

Theatre North of Tulsa, Red Carpet Community Theatre of Elk City, Grove
