December 31st, 2017 8:30 PM

The Playmakers’ invite you to their first New Year’s Celebration.  You will be able to revel in an evening of music, dancing, and a mystery play showcasing a special visit from Father Time and a cast of local, well-known community leaders. The fun begins at 8:30 and goes until the beginning of the New Year, at the former Moose Lodge, 61951 E 315 Road in Grove.  There will be hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, raffles, auctions and a light buffet in a non-smoking environment. There will be a complimentary champagne toast at midnight, complete with hats and noise-makers. The event is for those 21 years and older only. The dress is Festive Attire.

Ticket are $75/ guest.  Businesses and individual hosts may reserve tables for six to twelve guests at the same per person price. Reservation must be received by December 30; call The Playmakers, (918) 786-8950.  Leave a message and a volunteer will return your call to confirm and make arrangement for your seating and payment.  Credit cards will be accepted.  If you have to make last minute reservations, and there are still seats available on December 31, you may still be able to join the fun at $85/ guest.  If you would like to attend this event, but don’t want to come alone, please tell us and we will do our best to find you a “Theatre Buddy.”

The mystery show, written by Stan Starts, a Playmaker and former Jay high school teacher, involves the disappearance of the eternal clock set for the end of 2017.  It has been stolen from Father Time. Without it the guests at this event can’t progress into 2018. Who could have taken it? Is it part of Santa’s gang who are wanting a longer vacation? Could it be Black Pete and his daughter who need more time to punish bad boys and girls?  Has the weatherman forecast one too many hurricanes? Do the moose want to take over the world in 2018?  Who is investigating and who is going undercover to find it? Only time will tell, but it is running out.

This New Year’s fundraising event will benefit the Grove Community Playmakers, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  If you are unable to attend this evening of fun with The Playmakers, you may make a separate year-end donation by sending your contribution to The Playmakers, PO Box 450236, Grove, OK 74345.  Proceeds will go toward plans for the future expansion of Playmaker activities, including a new Youth Theatre Training & Performance Program.
