Dear OCTA Member:
We will be
publishing a quarterly web based newsletter that will be on our website at
www.oktheatre.org. We will also be sending quarterly emails with a text only version of the newsletter with a link to see the full color copy with grahics and pictures. This means that we will be able to publicize your
productions, auditions, and events in a much more timely and exciting
manner. You can see why we are so excited about this
change.
Now, here's where we need your help. By the 20th of January, April, July, and October, OCTA needs
information from you to put into the newsletter. The wonderful thing about
the electronic newsletter is that we can reproduce COLOR PICTURES of your
productions and events, and can cover them in a timely manner.
| So, here's a summary of the requirements for submission to OCTA's newsletter: |
1. Pictures should ideally be sent electronically and must be in a .jpg or .gif
format. If you don't have your pictures in an electronic format, we can scan
them if you send us a hard copy. Please know that images might need to be
edited for inclusion in our newsletter. Because of the size of the images,
a shot of one or two people is always better than a full stage of people.
SEND US YOUR PICTURES. LET OTHERS IN THE STATE SEE WHAT KIND OF WORK YOU
ARE DOING. |
2. Text or copy should also be sent electronically, as that will be
easier for us to manipulate and include, rather than us having to retype
your information. |
We will still be putting the monthly calendar of events on the website. Therefore, you might want to wait and send us pictures and stories of your successes AFTER THE FACT, rather than before. (However, if you are doing something wonderful or unusual and you have some strong publicity images that you want everyone to know about, send them on.)
Remember, this doesn't have to be just about your productions. We would love
to include information on events, workshops, other training opportunities,
news of awards or recognition you receive, etc.
It is our hope that we have SO MUCH information to choose from that we have to
pick and choose for each month's newsletter. That is a problem that we would
LOVE to solve. However, we will do our best to include everything that is
sent our way.
Okay, that's all for now. We're hoping you will take advantage of this new
information tool and let OCTA spread the word statewide about the wonderful
things that are happening locally.
