Charlie Burns teaches drama, English, reading, and yearbook at Woodward Middle School and serves as the Vice President for OnStage Woodward, a non-profit theatre troupe. He is the former executive director for the Woodward Arts and Theatre Council and former general manager of the Woodward Arts Theatre and Josie Adams Cultural Centre. Mr. Burns holds degrees in Speech/Theatre and Mass Communication from NWOSU, and he is currently working toward a Master's degree in Secondary Education.
In Woodward, Burns has served on the Chamber of Commerce and Main Street boards of directors, Envision Woodward Strategic Planning Committee, Northwest Pageants board, NWOSU-Woodward Alumni Task Force, and the Woodward Public Schools Guiding Coalition. He has been a grant panelist for the Oklahoma Arts Council, and he proudly boasts his achievement as a 2013 graduate (Class VI) of the Oklahoma Arts Council's Leadership Arts program.
In his spare time, he can be found exploring historic structures, volunteering for various clubs and organizations, and attending live theatre events. Burns has a love for bringing arts and music education options to our future generations.
