Tiphani Henderson
President, Elk City

Tiphani Currell is the owner of ‘Behind the Seams’ (Elk City), costume, rental, sales and alterations.  She has been involved 30+ years with various community theatres (Red Carpet Community Theatre in Elk City and Southwest Playhouse in Clinton).  Currently the director of the “Sagebrush Penguin Project” and “Untitled Pop Up Theatre.” She has attended many OCTA functions, festivals and conferences over the years.

Liz Dotson
Vice President, Woodward

Liz Dotson lives in Northwest Oklahoma and is President of OnStage Woodward.  She has been involved in the theatre there for many years. Liz has participated in the last three OCTAfest festivals as cast, including directing one year, and has gone to the Regional AACT festival twice.  For her day job, Liz works for DHS in child welfare doing foster care and adoptions, and is also Mayor of May, Oklahoma. She has one teenage daughter Samantha, who is learning the love of being on stage, as well as being passionate about stage managing. 

Todd A. Murray
Secretary, Norman

Todd A. Murray taught theatre and forensics in suburban Oklahoma high schools for nearly twenty years, traveling with students across the country to festivals and competitions, winning numerous awards along the way. As part of a study abroad program through New York University, he performed part of the Wakefield Mystery Cycle in Great Britain. Winning a grant with the Oklahoma State Department of Education, he wrote and directed a twenty-minute video that was used in high schools across Oklahoma for AIDS/HIV education. In 2007 he entered law school, passed the bar in 2010, and currently practices insurance defense in Oklahoma City. He founded a community theater, served as state director for Oklahoma Thespians creating its state festival, and participated in community theatre since 1989, including competing in OCTAFest and AACTFest with Theatre North’s production of Who Will Sing for Lena? directing the show. His last teaching position was as the Director of the Mary Glass Performing Arts Center, where he taught all technical theatre courses. 

Cadence Cloud
Oklahoma City

Cadence Cloud joined the theater world through Junior Actor’s Guild at Red Carpet Community Theater in Elk City. She continued her theater education through out high school and college. She graduated from Oklahoma City University with a B.F.A. Acting degree with a minor in directing. She builds sets for Jewel Box Theatre, acts, takes classes, and volunteers at OKC Improv.

Patty Dixon
Treasurer, Sand Springs

Patty has been involved in theatre for the past 50 years acting, stage managing and directing – especially enjoying musicals. She is a charter member of the Sand Springs Community Theatre and has served the Board as Secretary, President and is currently the Production Manager which involves her in every show of SSCT.  Patty is the Vice Mayor of Sand Springs and believes that SSCT is a vital component of economic development and leisure service. “I believe being involved in theatre management on a statewide level will give me valuable insight from some of the best in the business that I can take back to Sand Springs. Hopefully my management training and experience will be an asset to OCTA and we can show donors / sponsors what an impact Community Theatre has in their constituents lives.”. 

Rebecca Fry
Shawnee

Rebecca Fry has served several years on the OCTA Board of Directors. She has been a volunteer at Shawnee Little Theatre for over 20 years. Rebecca has a passion for live theatre and wants to share it with others.

Catina Sundvall
Enid

Catina has been involved with community theatre since the age of 7. Catina is the technical director of Gaslight Theatre and has held many roles for the last 23 years she has lived in Enid including past president, building and facilities, and secretary. She has a passion for working with the youth at Gaslight, having served as the teen sponsor, directing teen shows, and will be directing this years Drama Camp for elementary aged children. Catina is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a National Certified Counselor.

Charlie Burns
Edmond

Charlie Burns is a former teacher of theatre, stagecraft, English, reading, and yearbook in both the Woodward and Putnam City school districts.  Charlie is a past president for OnStage Woodward, a non-profit theatre troupe and one of the founding organizations of OCTA. He is the former Executive Director for the Woodward Arts and Theatre Council and former General Manager of the Woodward Arts and Theatre and Josie Adams Cultural Centre.  Mr. Burns holds a Master Degree in Secondary Education and Bachelor Degrees in Speech/Theatre and Mass Communications from NWOSU.

Burns relocated to Edmond from Woodward in 2018.  While living in Woodward, Burns served on the Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Boards of Directors, Envision Woodward Strategic Planning Committee, Northwest Pageants Board, NWOSU-Woodward Alumni Task Force, and the Woodward Public Schools Guiding Coalition.  He has been a grant panelist for the Oklahoma Arts Council’s Leadership Arts program.

In his spare time, he can be found exploring historic structures, volunteering for various clubs and organizations, attending live theatre events, and spending time with his incredible husband, Jason, and his perfect daughter, Amelia.  Burns has a love of creating arts education opportunities for our future generations.

Shonda Currell
Elk City

Past OCTA President and Treasurer. Co-Owner of Currell’s Doit Center, Past President of the Elk City Rotary Club, married, and mother of three daughters.

Doobie Potter
Oklahoma City

Doobie Potter, a delightful dramatist and mime, studied theatre at C.S. Mott College and the University of Michigan. She also had extensive training at the Valley Studio of Mime where she was a member of the Wisconsin Mime Company. During her residencies, she stresses improvisation and alternative thinking in theatre, techniques of mime and creative dramatics. She can lead students through the whole production process from start to finish or help find different ways to stimulate a creative writing project, dramatize a book, expand non-verbal skills or write a play through improvisation and cooperative learning techniques.
